We are committed and proud to incorporate age-appropriate, athletic-driven "Life Principle Building Blocks" into each session. Every camp day we designate a time, a Pro Coach Staff Speaker, and a character education topic to discuss with all the campers. We want to make sure that we make an impact in each camper’s lives, not just on the soccer field, but in the ‘game of life’.
I grew up in Cape May County, New Jersey and fully understand the temptations, pressures, and obstacles that young kids may encounter—especially in a shore resort environment. I saw many of my teammates, who possessed amazing athletic talent and who had bright futures ahead of them, be derailed from their goals because of choices and decisions they made off the field. We want to prepare and equip every camper to avoid unhealthy choices that will impact their lives, and to overcome any obstacles that may cause them to fail, (i.e. coaches who say they are not good enough, teammates being cruel on the field, failure, frustration, laziness, contentment, pride and uncoachability etc..).
We will hear personal stories from the staff -- failures and triumphs-- and the formula they used to achieve. As professional soccer players, we believe our approach is holistic and will not only prepare our campers to succeed in the game, but impact their attitudes both on and off the field.
Some examples of topics we will include:
-Hard Work/Persistence -Decision making -Attitude -Teammates in life
- Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go. ~William Feather
- Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. ~Henry Ford
- Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude. ~Ralph Marston
- Character is what emerges from all the little things you were too busy to do yesterday, but did anyway.
-Some people dream of success... while others wake up and work hard at it |
